“Restore Better Community Relationship”

first_imgMr. Dorbor M. Suah, Executive Director of Hope Worldwide-Liberia (HWWL), has pledged his organization’s commitment to restore better community relationships for the good of society. He made the commitment at a program marking the closing exercise of a Community Healing Dialogue held over the weekend at the A. B. Tolbert Road. The activities included drama, singing as well as the certification of those who completed the six-week dialogue. “The approach of residents on A. B. Tolbert Road to dialogue on community matters can be decentralized to other communities. This psychosocial dialogue helps in healing communities that are broken apart,” Mr. Suah said. He observed the need to restore better community relationships through which the residents can have the confidence to discuss issues that affect their general welfare as community members. According to him, in many communities, people fall apart owing to gaps that failed to address some of their pertinent concerns, but in spite of that, he remains confident that residents of the A. B. Tolbert Community will use the dialogue to handle issues affecting them and the community. He said his organization has previously identified the need for the residents to help in handling community matters through dialogue, which also circumvented the residents from using the courts to seek redress. The chairlady of A. B. Tolbert Road Community and a participant of the dialogue, Lucy Kobbah, expressed appreciation for the initiative and she believes that the impact will help to “image the community in a more unique form.” “This dialogue will strengthen us to resolve our differences among ourselves instead of taking each other to court or to the police station,” Madam Kobbah said.Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)last_img read more
