Green Grant Program recipients will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis and will receive up to $20,000 to install in their home a 3kW photovoltaic system that typically costs $26,000 per unit and that actually generates electricity. If no electricity is used in the house with a photovoltaic system, the electricity will flow back into the grid, causing the energy meter to go in reverse. To qualify for the Green Grant Program, applicants must be an existing homeowner whose annual income does not exceed 80 percent of the adjusted median income as determined by the federal government.
