by: Anthony DemangoneAs managers, we’re trained to look for trouble. Good execution demands it.“What could go wrong here?” Once you find the gopher holes, you fill them in and move on.A wonderful trait…at times. But sometimes, it can cause problems.Someone comes to you with an idea.“Great idea, but…”“Yes, but…”Marshall Goldsmith wrote about this a great deal in his famous book, What Got You Here, Won’t Get You There. He was kind enough to share with me his famous list of “20 annoying habits” of successful people. A good number of them involve the idea of passing judgement, which steals ownership from others.A colleague shared a nice article recently that challenges you to use “Yes, and,” whenever possible. It forces you out of the “yes, but” mindset, and it opens up communication more than you’d think. From the article…“In a negative situation, use ‘yes, and … ‘ instead of ‘but,’” Rodriguez advises. Sound advice. Listen to the difference: “Your work is great, but we couldn’t use it because you didn’t deliver it on time.” Instead: “Your work is great, and it would be really helpful if you could deliver it on deadline so that we can be sure to use it.” Removing the word “but” takes the opposition and conflict out of a sentence. It brings you closer to a cooperative solution to the impasse. continue reading » 5SHARESShareShareSharePrintMailGooglePinterestDiggRedditStumbleuponDeliciousBufferTumblr

What If I Never Get Over You is their first chart topper since Lady Antebellum signed with the label.“The moment we heard What If I Never Get Over You we knew it was going to be an integral piece of Ocean,” Dave Haywood said. “It has been a long time since we released a mid-temp longing duet like this which is so much of who we are and how we started. It sort of felt like coming home and we are grateful to the team behind us and Country radio for believing in the song as much as we did from the start.”What If I Never Get Over You was written by Ryan Hurd, Sam Ellis, Laura Veltz and Jon Green, and it was produced by Dan Huff.Fans can see the band in North America on their Ocean 2020 tour, which kicks off in May. It has not been happy times for football fans in the parish of St Catherine since the start of the 2019-2020 Red Stripe Premier League season, but the die-hards and others will be hoping that the old capital will come alive and that the Prison Oval will rock.In action today will be the defending champions, Portmore United, hosting the people’s champions, Dunbeholden, who, last season, refused to die and willed themselves out of the relegation zone. That positivity has not carried over into this season for Dunbeholden, who, like Portmore United, are winless and pointless so far this season.Together, they have conceded nine goals – four for Dunholden and five for Portmore – and scored one goal between them, with Dunbeholden accounting for it. Despite the gloomy situation, positivity flows from Portmore United captain Rosario Harriot.“We will get everything rolling soon. We have a good squad capable of getting the results we need, and what is absent now is just the chemistry and the understanding of playing together, and that will come soon,” said the club stalwart, who also spent some time at Harbour View. The struggles of his team, Harriot explained, are partially due to the departure of key players and the arrival of new ones. KEY PLAYERS OUT “Maybe it could be down to some key players being missing and some new players coming in, so it is just that the chemistry has not come as yet,” explained Harriot, making reference to the departure of Ricardo Morris and Jovan East, who scored the bulk of their goals. Also making exits were Damono Soloman, who started in central defence as well as Chavany Willis and Damion Williams, who played key roles in midfield.“This is a derby game, an important one for us, which can give us a kick start to our season. For us, it is an opportunity to put points on the table,” Harriot declared. If Portmore United are to get the points from this game, they will require goals. The recently acquired Cory Burke and Rondee Smith will lead their charge.Dunbeholden’s Michael Cohen sees the game as a massive one for his charges.“It is a very big, big game. We have never beaten Portmore in a competitive fixture. They are the defending champions, who are without points, and we are without points as well, so this is really a big one,” Cohen said. The previous results, Cohen said, are not indicators of their quality or ability.“We just need to make less mistakes and put the ball in the back of the net. We have been making some costly errors, and we are trying to eliminate them. We are creating chances, too, and need to put them away,” Cohen said of what it would take to get the better of their more storied parishioners. One major strength of his group, Cohen said, is their team play. Individuality and individual play are not part of their operation he said.“We do not rely on one or two players. We are a team, and that is our strength. Individuality does not work for us.“The players are very motivated because Potmore beat us three times last season and we had the better of the play then. They are using it as a motivator,” Cohen said, adding that former Portmore players Eric Edwards, Keemo Gayle, Shaquille Dyer, Andre Dyce, and Saneke Burton are even more eager to get one over their former team.At the Wembley Centre, the newly promoted Molynes United will seek to get the better of fellow promoted team Vere United in a bid to maintain their stay at the top of the table. Mount Pleasant are expected to record their first win of the season when they host the sliding Tivoli Gardens.Cavalier will be aiming to put their Monday night whipping behind them when they entertain Humble Lion, while Waterhouse FC will take on Harbour View in a battle of two of the three unbeaten teams at the Waterhouse Stadium.Today’s Games:5:00pm Cavalier FC vs Humble Lion FC @ Stadium East4:00pm Mount Pleasant FA vs Tivoli Gardens FC @ Drax Hall Sports Complex3:30pm Portmore United FC vs Dunbeholden FC @ Prison Oval3:30pm Vere United FC vs Molynes United FC @ Wembley Centre of Excellence7:00pm Waterhouse FC vs Harbour View FC @ Waterhouse Stadium StandingsStandings in the National Premier League (Tabulated under Teams, P-Play, W-Win, D-Draw, L-Lose, GF-Goals For, GA-Goals Against, GD – Goal Difference and O Pts-Overall PointsPOINTS STANDINGTeams P W D L GF GA GD Pts Molynes FC 2 2 0 0 6 2 4 6H.View 2 2 0 0 5 1 4 6 Waterhouse 2 2 0 0 3 0 3 6 H. Last summer, Thierry Ambrose joined FC Metz on loan from Manchester City and the French club retain an option to make the forward’s stay permanent. The LFP confirmed the 2019/20 season has ended early due to the Covid-19 crisis. Paris Saint-Germain were crowned champions, while Metz will continue in the top flight next season. On May 6th, Républicain Lorrain reported the automatic option to buy the 23-year-old ‘will be triggered’ since the Ligue 1 side avoided relegation.Ambrose joined the English club’s academy in 2013, but failed to make a single appearance for their first team. After spending seven years at City, Foot Mercato claims his move from the English champions to Metz is now ‘confirmed’.The player has given an interview to Foot Mercato, and was asked to make an assessment of his time with the Premier League winners.“I make a good assessment. I arrived very young, I finished best player with the youth team, top scorer, I won the championship, I made it to the bench (of the first team). I learned a lot there,” he said.Embed from Getty Images“My only regret is that I didn’t go there [the first team]. I think I had a chance at one point and I injured my cruciate. “So, there is not even a real regret, when you hurt yourself, that’s how it is. But I learned a lot and I know that until the end of my life I could say that I played at City. It’s beautiful!”When quizzed what he will do if the door opens again to join Manchester City, Ambrose said: “Of course! It’s there in the back of my head.“City is not a club that closes the door. I know if you have a great season, this is a club that can buy you.”The Frenchman explained how his time at City has helped him to have a different view towards the way the sport is played today.“I like to play football with possession and it is largely thanks to them. In everything I do now, I’m looking for a possession game and trying to understand better why it matters. In the tactical and mental aspect, I learned a lot,” the attacker stressed.by Taboolaby TaboolaSponsored LinksSponsored LinksPromoted LinksPromoted LinksTrending TodayForge of Empires – Free Online GameBuild a City, Trade With Your Neighbors, Play With Your FriendsForge of Empires – Free Online GameUndo聽多多 Hearmore.asia1969年前出生的香港居民現可免費試戴頂尖的歐洲助聽器聽多多 Hearmore.asiaUndoMake Money Online | Search AdsDo You Want To Make Money Online?
