“Good Vibes” Riddle Peninsula Marijuana Celebration

first_imgSullens: “There’s a lot of home cooked foods and cakes and goodies, no alcohol at the event and so guests were asked to not drink beforehand and so there was no drinking there. There were a lot of cream sodas and root beer and water bottles laying around and there was a smoking section outside where folks could go out and there was some demonstrations of how to properly use dabs and different types of marijuana strands were being shared among the group. It was really a wonderful pleasant evening and everyone went home happy and safe.” “I like how everything’s got the roaring 20’s theme going, they look great all dressed up… It’s unprecedented to say the least and it is everything I’d hoped it would be with good vibes, good people, good food… I think this is an important step forward… So it’s actually just a nice way to not be meeting at a borough meeting and fighting and not be trying to sign petitions, that we’re just sitting and enjoying it and enjoying the fact that we can go outside and smoke marijuana if we choose.” FacebookTwitterEmailPrintFriendly分享Between 80-100 people from across the peninsula gathered Friday evening to celebrate “the end of prohibition” on marijuana. Robyn Sullens attended the event at Kenai Catering and said there were individuals from all age groups and walks of life there to enjoy the activities. The organizers even checked with local law enforcement to make sure activities were within the newly legalized marijuana laws.last_img read more

Club owner ‘continues to consider an entry in a club like…

first_imgOver the past week or so, we’ve seen the Roma owner linked with takeovers at both Newcastle United and Leeds United, although he made it clear he wasn’t all that interested in the former of the two on Tuesday.Despite this, La Repubblica continue to name Mike Ashley’s club as a potential target, and, as well as Leeds United, they add Aston Villa to the mix. There has been little to no indication the NSWE Group would be willing to sell the club anytime soon, having only bought it less than two years ago, especially after helping them get promoted back to the Premier League last season and some heavy investment in the summer.La Repubblica don’t have a lot of detail, simply stating that Pallotta, who is on the verge of selling Roma to American billionaire Dan Friedkin, ‘continues to consider an entry in an English club like Leeds, Newcastle and Aston Villa’.We know both the Magpies and Andrea Radrizzani’s club are open for business, but we’ll have to wait and see about the Villains. We’re not convinced.by Taboolaby TaboolaSponsored LinksSponsored LinksPromoted LinksPromoted LinksTrending TodayForge of Empires – Free Online GameIf You Like to Play, this City-Building Game is a Must-Have. Chace The Great to waltz away with Reggae Trophy

first_imgOUTGUNNED by big horse SHE’S A MANEATER, and before that WILL IN CHARGE in the Diamond Mile, top sprinter CHACE THE GREAT faces lesser rivals in this afternoon’s Reggae Trophy at five furlongs straight. However, the Dwight Chen-trained six-year-old gelding is allowing Richard Azan’s pair of MONEY MAGNET and PEKING CRUZ tons of weight, 15lb and 17lb, respectively. The trio last met on December 15 at five and a half furlongs, with CHACE THE GREAT giving both six pounds in an event that he lost by a head to SHE’S A MANEATER, who chased him down with the big weight that afternoon. Now in the hot seat with 126lb, CHACE THE GREAT will have chasing to do, especially with PEKING CRUZ carrying a feather at five furlongs straight, a distance at which he clocked 58.0 seconds back in September. PEKING CRUZ ran his best-ever race in November’s six-furlong Caribbean Sprint, carrying 121lb, and fought MR UNIVERSE on the lead before CHACE THE GREAT arrived with 126lb to cut them down leaving the furlong pole. MONEY MAGNET was kept out of the Caribbean Sprint by Azan, who instead ambitiously pointed her to the December 1 Diamond Mile, a distance at which she has never won and had no chance of beating the country’s top middle-distance runners and stayers. In the Diamond Mile, MONEY MAGNET ran as expected, prominent into the straight, third a furlong out, before weakening into fourth place behind WILL IN CHARGE, the closer BIGDADDYKOOL and CHACE THE GREAT, who bravely tried to steal the event after getting rid of MR UNIVERSE on the lead. MONEY MAGNET has been winning the early morning battles with PEKING CRUZ from the gate in preparation for the Reggae Trophy, twice beating her stablemate, clocking 59.0 seconds, six days apart, by more than a length on each occasion. That doesn’t sit well for the four-year-old gelding with MONEY MAGNET drawn on his outside, widest in the seven-horse field, and running only two pounds heavier, leaving CHACE THE GREAT with the job of having to defy the handicaps against the mare. In a previous meeting at five furlongs straight, CHACE THE GREAT carried 121lb and surged in the last furlong to beat MONEY MAGNET, 115lb, into third place, an event in which the pace was set by SIEMPRE BUENO. CHACE THE GREAT has never been better, holding his own against SHE’S A MANEATER, who has only been able to beat him sprinting with the pace set up for her by stablemate MR UNIVERSE. Though MONEY MAGNET definitely has the handicaps in her favour, the class resides with CHACE THE GREAT, a much-improved gelding, going up against a five-year-old mare, who he has consistently had the better of.last_img read more

3 Hawthorne men nabbed in robbery of Torrance Starbucks, customers

first_img AD Quality Auto 360p 720p 1080p Top articles1/5READ MOREWhicker: Clemson demonstrates that it’s tough to knock out the champAuthorities do not yet know how much money was taken, he added. The robbers left the coffee shop in a white sport utility vehicle, and were soon spotted by patrolling Torrance police officers near Artesia Boulevards and Western Avenue, Crespin said. The suspects fled, leading officers on a pursuit with speeds up to 100 mph over the eastbound Artesia (91) Freeway, northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, westbound Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway and onto the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway, Crespin said. After officers bumped the vehicle as it exited on Third Street in downtown Los Angeles, the car spun and slammed into a guard rail, Crespin said. The three suspects fled the vehicle, and Dasher jumped off the exit’s bridge, injuring his ankle on the 15-foot drop. Officers immediately apprehended the suspects, Crespin said. The three men are charged with multiple robbery counts, as well as evading arrest, Crespin said. An arraignment date has not been set, he added. Sawyer is held on $126,000 bail, and Roberson is held without bail as he is violation of parole, Crespin said. Police arrested three Hawthorne men late Wednesday after they allegedly robbed more than a dozen customers at a Torrance Starbucks and led officers on a 25-minute freeway pursuit, authorities said. Christopher Sawyer, 21, and Sidney Roberson, 26, were booked and in police custody Thursday, said Torrance police Officer Dave Crespin. A third suspect, Kenyatta Dasher, was at Harbor UCLA Medical Center for treatment of an ankle injury sustained during the police pursuit, Crespin said. Armed with handguns, the suspects allegedly entered the coffee shop near the corner of Crenshaw and Sepulveda boulevards around 10:10 p.m. Wednesday and robbed 13 customers and employees, Crespin said. last_img read more
