Then Vince had the idea for me to stay through April 30th and then May 1st and then May 2nd …so it’s a little bit crazy. But yeah, I think it’s fun. We had a break for about a year and a half with Fozzy so getting back in the room with the guys and just rehearsing and playing Judas for the first time live, it’s really exciting. It takes me right out of the WWE world and straight to Fozzy world very quickly, which helps because I don’t even really remember what happened on Smackdown. It’s a little bit crazier than I expected.”Why his latest run was among his favorites:“It’s definitely one of my favorites, top two along with the the Shawn Michaels feud and that era of Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio, Big Show was my partner. This year, I would like to say that we were geniuses and we thought to do this from the start and orchestrated the whole thing, but it just was all very organic. The whole partnership with Kevin Owens, the whole “list, stupid idiot” all that stuff it just became a thing much to my surprise to be honest with you. So as soon as everything really started getting over last March, we knew that we really weren’t doing much with Fozzy and the guys were doing another Stuck Mojo record so I said “Listen, I’m just gonna stay in WWE for 2016, I’ll take a break from the road with the band.” I think it was a pretty fun route because it just kept getting better and better even up until Smackdown on Tuesday. It was a great way to end the saga between Owens and Jericho because it started organically and then we went through the whole ups and downs and all this other stuff and turning on each other and then finally getting the surprise win on Sunday [Payback] and then having him take me out, kill the ‘knight in shining armor’ on Tuesday I think was a fitting end and a nice way to kind of button everything up.”On working with AJ Styles during his first year in WWE:“I take great pride in the fact that when he came into the company, and I know how Vince thinks and that he doesn’t care what people have done outside of the walls of the WWE, I knew that if I could work with him for a couple of months that I could help him with the small little things that he didn’t know about WWE that he picked up in about two weeks. And also get him over with the boss right away. And that’s basically what happened, and AJ is the best in the world I would say at this point. He was when he came in but still there was a little bit of a transition.”Recommended videosPowered by AnyClipWWE’s Chris Jericho Cast In Kevin Smith’s Horror MovieVideo Player is loading.Play VideoPauseUnmuteDuration 0:32/Current Time 0:03Loaded: 100.00%0:03Remaining Time -0:29 FullscreenUp NextThis is a modal window.Beginning of dialog window. He’s willing to put other over and help them build their characters…. no matter his role (face or heel) he is one of the best guys you want to work with!! Such a great person! definitely one of the GOAT Maybe it’s an assumption on my part but I read it as Jericho meant Vince doesn’t care what you’ve done in wrestling (i.e. In another promotion) outside the walls of WWE! I mean Jericho is a smart guy and knows Vince cares what people do in all others industries outside WWE other than wrestling (including UFC) as the examples are endless of Vince paying more for those and pushing them through the roof (I.e. Rhonda Rousey, Arnold, football players going over wrestlers at events, The Rock in Hollywood, Cindy Lauper, Ali, Alice Cooper, the dude from Arrow, Shaq, John Stewart) and Brock falls into that category in Vince’s mind clearly. To Jericho’s point, it’s the exact opposite when it comes to Vince pushing big names that came in from other promotions (Steiner after WCW, Goldberg’s first run, DDP, the poor use of Sting, etc.)I agree on all the things you said about the treatment Lesnar gets but I believe Jericho was referring to Vince not caring what wrestlers have done in other promotions and not what they have done in outside industry entities like UFC because the proof is in the examples and I believe Jericho see’s that! He is mostly right of course because we’ve seen it time & again for decades now with several big name stars from other promotions. But then there’s Roid Assner who makes $12 million a year; a head-shakingly ludicrous amount of money for an odious @sshole who disrespects the company, disrespects the people who work there (including Jericho), injures guys he works with, openly flaunts the “wellness program”, works a ridiculously light schedule but still puts very little to no effort whatsoever into what few matches he does have, and yet he’s paid a hell of a lot more than anyone else there and is repeatedly given high profile matches & title belts. Why? Because his 3 year UFC run (minus 1 year he took off with mono) which ended WAY back in 2011 “gives WWE & its titles titles more credibility.” Yeah sure he does. Nevermind he was forced to retire from UFC in disgrace after being caught cheating against an MMA journeyman but still…credibility. X( May 7, 2017 at 1:40 am Yes Jericho & you are right about Vince’s view of wrestlers from other companies. Like I said: Jericho IS mostly right because we’ve seen it time & again for decades with several big name stars from other promotions. There’s those examples you listed with Scott Steiner, Goldberg, DDP, & Sting plus very many others (Booker T, RVD, Rey Mysterio, Dusty Rhodes, even Ric Flair & The Road Warriors never really got that particularly good treatment there). So I’m not disagreeing with Jericho outright because he is right on for the most part.I guess I just had to rant because it disgusts me to see all those other wrestlers break their bodies 300+ days a year for WWE for so much less money while the biggest @sshole on the roster gets celebrity treatment he doesn’t earn or deserve. Vince is an ingrate & quite frankly a f*cking idiot to lift up someone who virtually spits on him while stomping on those who really break their backs for his company. Agree completely regarding Lesnar as well 11 COMMENTS Hope he returns to WWE soon…Gonna miss his entertaining nonsense like ‘putting people one the list’ and ‘it’ May 7, 2017 at 10:26 am May 7, 2017 at 11:40 pm TheCyberZon Now Playing Up Next Jeremy King Kevin Smith Teases Latest Addition To Cast Of Jay And Silent Bob Reboot May 7, 2017 at 12:58 am Colbylast_img read more
