(DAAP).Administrative Professionals Day will be observed globally on Wednesday April 23.According to Mayor John, the goal of the administrative professional is to strengthen and capitalize on knowledge, skills and abilities, to get noticed and to stay competitive which can be achieved through a change of mental attitudes. “Imagine the change we want to ignite…Can you see it, hear it, feel it, touch it, and taste it? If you can, then believe in it. Our torch will awake dreams to becoming reality”.Mrs. John urged the professionals to become lifelong learners and embrace continuing education and professional development.“Join a professional association like the local chapter of the Caribbean Association of Administrative Professionals, discover the power of a mentor/coach relationship, be a champion for professional relationships especially team dynamics, build on what already exists and ensure commitment to a shared vision”.Instead of being a victim of change, she noted, administrative professionals must grasp change with both hands and feet and embrace it as this will be the testimony of their strength.Mrs. John urged the professionals to become lifelong learners and as such embrace continuing education and professional development.“We have to understand that we have to be change agents and recognize that change is constant, inevitable, and often times disparaging and stressful. Instead of being a victim of change, we have to grasp change with both hands and feet and embrace it. This will be the testimony of our strength,” Mrs John noted.Mayor John will be inducted as an honorary member of the Dominica Association of Administrative Professionals Inc. in addition to five other prospective members at a ceremony next week.A church service on Sunday, April 20 at the New Day Fellowship, a publicity drive on April 20 and a cocktail are some of the activities planned to commemorate the week’s observance.Dominica Vibes News Tweet Sharing is caring!
