She departed this life on May 27, 2019 at the age of 95 years.On Jan. 22, 1941, Ruth married Houston Shreffler who preceded her in death, and to that union was borne one daughter who survives, Martha Bee (Bill) McHenry, of Manchester, Ohio.She also leaves to mourn her passing two grandchildren, Theann (Scott) of Greenan of Bedford, Ind. and Bronald McHenry of Manchester, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, P.J. Greenan, Rebeca Lynn Greenan, Cara Marie McHenry Valesco, and Amber Leann McHenry; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest, Roy, and Hugh Schott, and one sister, Opal Scott.Ruth spent her entire life in Adams County. She was a wallpaper hanger for many years of her earlier life and worked as a meat wrapper at Prather’s IGA in West Union, Ohio until she retired at the age of 85. In the summer, she enjoyed gardening and mowing her yard.A graveside service for Ruth will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 31 at Manchester Cemetery. Rev.
